We’re working with a lovely client at the moment on an awareness-building campaign. GAIN were set up to support those diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare and little-known illness which attacks the nerves and leaves patients very weak. Not many people have heard of it, including the medical profession and this means it can take a long time to get a diagnosis.
GAIN got a bit of a boost a few months ago when Lee Clark, ex-professional footballer (Newcastle, Sunderland and Fulham) stepped forward to offer his services to help spread the word about GBS. He has personal experience of this illness as his father contracted GBS early last year and sadly died as a result of it.
We secured an interview with the Sunday Express magazine for Lee to tell his story. It was published last Sunday to coincide with Father’s Day. You can read the interview here.
